Jeremy, Jaxon, Punkin and I were invited to go to Flaming Gorge with the Derbidge Family. We were both able to get the time off and so, of course we went! The plan was to leave Friday morning and head up there. We decided since everyone was off work Thursday night, we would get a head start and go up early. We got everything ready, and we were on the road by about 9:00 pm. We got into Evanston and the car started to drop oil pressure. We pulled off the road and put oil in. When John started the car back up, it was making a weird noise. We finally got oil pressure back and started to pull off the side of the freeway. All of a sudden the engine gave out. We were able to get far enough back on the shoulder before we totally stopped. No one had service on their phones because we were on our way up a canyon. We were able to coast down the side of the freeway about 5 ft (which was just enough to get service back) and we were able to call a tow-truck. The tow-tuck was about an hour and a half out. John called his Dad to come and pick us up. Since we had 4 adults, two babies, and 2 dogs, we would need 2 cars. Of course, while waiting for the tow-tuck, I had to go to the bathroom. There was no way I could hold it for another hour or so. I grab some T.P. and head down the side of the freeway far enough away that I wont flash everyone. I am praying the whole time that some animal or creature wont attack my bare behind while I am doing my business. So everything went fine and we finally made it home about 3:00 am. Thanks so much to John's parents! We were going to just hang around the house and find things to do, but my mom and dad offered for us to take their car up and then we could tow Derbidges car on the way back down. So off we went. We were very excited to be on our way again. What would a road trip be without Jaxon getting sick in the car and throwing up everywhere!! We had to strip him down to a diaper. We put his nasty stinky clothes in the metal box on the trailer. As we were driving down the road, the box flew open and his clothes flew out on the highway.
We finally made it there and got things settled. We had a great time playing games and making smores! We used the coconut covered marshmallows. Yummy! We played the game, "Ticket To Ride". We all could not get enough of it. We had a blast on the boat. Everyone took a turn to either go on the tube, wake board or ski. We were able to swim around in the water. The water was about 72 degrees. It felt great! We made dutch oven lasagna on Sat night then walked to the store and got ice cream. We packed up and headed home Sunday morning. My parents met us in Evanston to tow the car to the shop with my Dad's truck. Thanks Dad and Mom. We had a great time and everyone made it home safe. Thanks so much Derbidges for inviting us! And thanks Mom and Dad for letting us use the car.
